STEP PROCEDURE. One – Within thirty (30) calendar days after its occurrence, the aggrieved employee shall discuss his complaint with his immediate supervisor. It shall be discussed verbally and if resolved, no further action shall be taken. If not resolved on an informal discussion basis with three (3) working days, the grievance shall be reduced to writing within seven (7) calendar days, signed by the aggrieved and submitted to the Lieutenant. The Lieutenant shall investigate the grievance and provide a written answer to the grievant within seven (7) calendar days of the date of submission. The time limit in preparing a written grievance or written response may be waived by mutual agreement, but not to exceed ten (10) calendar days.

STEP PROCEDURE. If a teacher claims to have a complaint, the teacher and the Branch President, or Designate, shall discuss the complaint with the individual whose action gave rise to the complaint, and the Director of Education, or Designate, within ten (1O) days of becoming aware of the occurrence giving rise of the incident. An attempt shall be made to resolve the complaint informally. If the complaint is not resolved informally, the issue shall proceed to Step unless withdrawn by the or placed on the Agenda, with mutual consent of the parties, for the next Joint Relations Committee Meeting for a round table discussion with the purpose of resolving the conflict locally.
STEP PROCEDURE. The process to be followed is:
STEP PROCEDURE. A. The grievant and the Association representative or the Association may orally present a grievance to the immediate supervisor. If the grievance is not settled orally, a written statement of grievance shall be presented to the immediate supervisor within thirty (30) days after the occurrence of the grievance or within thirty (30) days from the time the grievant or the Association should have reasonably become aware of the occurrence of the events giving rise to the grievance, whichever is later.
B. The Statement of Grievance shall name the grievant(s) involved, the facts giving rise to the grievance, the provision(s) of the Agreement alleged to be violated, and the remedy (specific relief) requested.
C. The immediate supervisor, upon receipt of the written grievance, shall sign and date the grievance form and shall give a copy of the grievance form to the grievant(s) and the Association representative. The immediate supervisor shall answer the grievance in writing within five (5) days of receipt of the written grievance. The immediate supervisor’s answer shall include the reasons upon which the decision was based. The supervisor shall concurrently send a copy of the grievance, his/her decision, and all supportive evidence to the grievant(s) and the Association representative. (See STEP ONE GRIEVANCE FORM.)
STEP PROCEDURE. With a desire to settle grievances promptly, the parties recognize the following systems for the settlement of grievances. Settlement of grievances shall be made in the following order and manner except that grievances involving suspension or discharge will start at Step 2. Time limits indicated may be extended by consent of the parties.
Step 1. Between the aggrieved employee and his immediate supervisor and the appropriate supervisor. The shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ or committeeman may be present. The employee and the Union Representative, if present, shall discuss the grievance with the supervisor in an attempt to resolve the grievance prior to putting it in writing. If the grievance is not satisfactorily resolved through these discussions, it shall be put in writing, setting forth the Article allegedly violated. The supervisor shall have ten (10) calendar days in which to make written disposition of the grievance. Any settlement or final disposition of the grievance at Step 1 shall not constitute a precedent. If the grievance is not settled, it shall be presented at the next step within five (5) work days of receipt of the supervisor's answer. In the event the immediate supervisor is not available the grievance may be presented at Step 2.
Step 2. Between the superintendent over the department where the grievance occurs, HR representative and the Union Grievance Committee. The Union's International Representative may be present. The Company shall have fourteen (14) calendar days in which to make written answer to grievance. If the grievance is not settled satisfactorily, it shall be presented at the next scheduled third step grievance meetings.
Step 3. Between a representative designated by the Company and the International Representative designated by the United Steelworkers International Union and the Union Grievance Committee, who will attempt to settle the grievance. The Company shall have thirty (30) days in which to make a written answer to the grievance. The Union shall notify the Company within sixty (60) days of receipt of the Company's written answer as to whether or not the Company's written answer is satisfactory.
