Statutory and Legislative Requirements. The Data Protection Act 1998 is not a barrier to sharing information but provides a framework to ensure that personal information is shared appropriately. All parties should adhere to and abide by the Data Protection Action 1998 and the Common Law Duty of Confidence. Information shared under the terms of this agreement must not be disclosed without the written consent of information data controller. Information shared and received may only be made accessible within each partner organisation for the purpose for which it was requested or provided and only to those individuals or role-holders with a legitimate relationship to access.
