Employees absent the day previous to or following a holiday as set out above shall forfeit, in addition to the lost time, the pay for the holiday itself excepting where previous arrangements have been made with the Department Head or upon production of a doctor's certificate. When any statutory holiday falls on an Employee's scheduled day off, such Employee shall receive another day off, with pay, at a time mutually agreed upon between the Employee and the Department Head. In lieu of the "one additional day holiday" referred to in Article of Local (Clerical and Technical) Collective Agreement covering the main body of Employees, the Employees covered by the terms of this Agreement shall be paid for Labour Day in lieu thereof. It is understood that the Employees shall not be paid for Dominion Day or Civic Holiday or any other day proclaimed falling in the months of July and August. VACATIONS Employees entering the service of the Employer shall, following the completion of a six months permanent service which shall include the probationary period, be entitled to a vacation period with pay, calculated on an accrual basis at the rate of of one working day per month for each completed month of employment including the probationary period, subsequent to September and prior to July in the following year. Thereafter, the Employee shall be entitled to of two weeks annual vacation with pay. Notwith- standing the provisions hereof Employees working regularly on the basis of less than hours per week shall receive vacation pay in accordance with the Employment Standards...

Statutory. The Newark Public Schools recognizes that the protection afforded to Newark Public Schools employees under the provisions of 18A:16-6.1 of the New Jersey Statutes as presently in force or as such laws may be amended during the life of this Agreement and dealing with indemnity of employees against civil actions and certain criminal actions will be applicable to nurses.

Statutory. The targets and objectives for the Headteacher are set by the appointed Governors after consulting with the Headteacher and an external adviser, on an annual basis as part of the review process.
