Statutes of Limitations. (a) Except as otherwise provided in this Agreement, UNOVA or Western Atlas may allow a statute of limita- tions to expire, extend a statute, or make exceptions for any Tax Item in a final agreement with the IRS or other taxing authority in respect of any taxable period ending after the Distribution Date, as UNOVA or Western Atlas in its sole discretion may determine.
