Stat Holidays. All Stat days start at 7:00 a.m. on the day of the stat and end 7:00 a.m. of the following day.
Stat Holidays. It is agreed that where possible Mechanics will be awarded their stat holiday on the eight hour scheduled work day within the two week schedule where the stat holiday falls. Where it is not possible for the employee to be awarded the stat holiday when designated, the employee shall have the option to bank the holiday.
Stat Holidays. In order to reconcile the additional statutory holiday pay provided to employees as a result of conversion of the regular hours of work from eight (8) hours per day to eight (8) hours and fifty-four (54) minutes per day, all employees participating in this compressed hours of work program shall be subject to the provisions of clause 6.01.14.
Stat Holidays. A weekend not worked is the equivalent to holidays and four hours pay at the regular rate. This will only apply when Company and Union have agreed on the taking of such Stat Holidays. Remaining Stat Holidays not taken (as agreed by Company and Union) will be paid eight hours at the regular rate in the employees' classification.

18.02 To be eligible for holiday pay, an employee must have worked their scheduled regular day of work preceding and following the holiday; or their absence on either said days must have been prearranged (e.g. lieu day, vacation, etc.) or due to verified illness. The calculation of holiday pay shall be in accordance with the terms of the Employment Standards Act, 2000.
18.03 Employees scheduled to work on a paid holiday shall be paid one and one half (1½) times their regular rate for all hours worked on the paid holiday plus:
(a) holiday pay as per Article 18.02; or
(b) a day off with holiday pay as per Article 18.02 in lieu of the holiday (i.e. a substitute holiday). The above is subject to meeting the requirements of Article 18.02.
18.04 When a paid holiday falls on a day that is not ordinarily a working day for an employee or during the employee’s vacation the employee will be entitled to either:
(a) holiday pay as per Article 18.02; or
(b) a day off with holiday pay as per Article 18.02 in lieu of the holiday (i.e. a substitute holiday)
18.05 Substitute holidays must be taken within sixty (60) days following the applicable holiday, unless mutually agreed otherwise. Where a substitute holiday is not taken during this time, the Employer will schedule the substitute holiday for the employee within ninety (90) days following the applicable holiday.
18.06 An Employee may provide written notice of a desire to waive the substitute holiday at which point the Employer will pay the Employee holiday pay in accordance with Article 18.03(a).
18.07 An employee scheduled to work on a statutory holiday or who agrees to work on a statutory holiday but does not report for work shall not be entitled to statutory holiday pay or a substitute holiday as the case may be unless unable to do so due to a verified illness or a reasonable excuse acceptable to the Employer.
18.08 Employees may be required to alternate between Christmas Day or New Year’s Day off each year. In the event there are too many requests for either holiday the deciding factors shall be:
(a) which holiday the employee worked the previous year; and
(b) seniority.
Stat Holidays. Hours worked on a statutory holiday shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1 ½) times the employee’s normal straight time plus another day off with pay or two and one- half times (2 ½) without another day off.

14:02 There shall be no pyramiding of sick leave pay, holiday pay and/or other premium pay or benefits under this Agreement.
14:03 An employee shall be granted leave for a religious holiday, upon written request to the Employer at least two (2) weeks prior to the date of the religious holiday. An employee may use compensatory time, vacation, etc., or may request substitution of the next public holiday following the religious holiday.
Stat Holidays. Employees working on the weekend shift will be entitled to 8 hours statutory holiday pay for a holiday that falls within their work week, subject to the provisions of Article 17
