The Staffing Incentive Allowance clause establishes a financial incentive for the contractor or service provider to maintain adequate staffing levels or meet specific staffing targets. Staffing Incentive Allowance. Additional salary at the rate of $1,000 per annum shall be paid to all principals appointed to advertised positions in schools designated as having serious staffing difficulties and schools approved because of location.

(a) all full-time teachers appointed to advertised positions in schools designated as having serious staffing difficulties;
(b) long-term relieving teachers appointed to long-term relieving positions for not less than two (2) complete terms in schools designated as having serious staffing difficulties;
(c) notwithstanding the above, permanent or long-term relieving teachers who receive three (3) or more permanent management units are excluded from receipt of the staffing incentive allowance.
3.20.2 A school which is approved Staffing Incentive Allowance (SIA) status retains this status for three (3) years.

4.12.2 Itinerant music teachers in Southland are entitled to be paid the staffing incentive allowance, provided that the majority of schools serviced by the individual teacher are designated as qualifying for the staffing incentive package.
