srmReleaseFiles Sample Clauses

The srmReleaseFiles clause governs the process by which files or data previously reserved or held within a storage resource management (SRM) system are released and made available for other uses. In practice, this clause outlines the conditions and procedures for releasing files, such as specifying when files are no longer needed by a user or application and can be returned to the general storage pool. By clearly defining the release mechanism, the clause ensures efficient resource utilization and prevents unnecessary occupation of storage space, thereby optimizing system performance and availability.
srmReleaseFiles. For the reprocessing task, LHC experiments requires the possibility to specify only ▇▇▇▇▇ (and not the associated active request IDs) when releasing copies or TURLs of files. Therefore, in WLCG this feature must be implemented by all storage services.
srmReleaseFiles. The srmReleaseFiles allows users to release pinned COPYs of FILEs. Only the COPYs created by the same DN issuing the srmReleaseFiles request are released. The corresponding physical copies can then be garbage collected. Figure 3 shows the behavior of srmReleaseFiles.
