Common use of Special Privilege Leave Clause in Contracts

Special Privilege Leave. Employees may use Accumulated Sick Leave for the following: A. Religious holidays not included in the school’s calendar (e.g. Jewish Holy Days, Eastern Orthodox Christmas) B. Compulsory court appearance (substantiated) C. Employees shall be allowed use of up to five (5) sick days due to the death of a member of his/her immediate family. Immediate family for this provision shall include spouse, child, parent, grandparent, grandchild, parent-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother or sister, and legal dependents. One (1) day shall be allowed to attend a funeral of a niece, nephew, aunt, uncle, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law. In all cases a sick leave request shall be completed and submitted to the Transportation Supervisor.
