Special Appointment. A Special appointment is an appointment with rank and normally with a full range of responsibilities, which is either: i. funded at least 50 percent from non-operational external sources; or ii. a Queen’s National Scholars appointment. Subject to the rules of the external funding sources or except as otherwise provided for in this Agreement, Special appointees shall have all the rights and privileges of Tenure-track/Continuing-track Members. Special appointments made after ratification of this Agreement will normally be Tenure-track/Continuing-track appointments. The Association will be advised in advance of the particulars of any Special appointment to be made.
