Social Inclusion and Gender Integration. The Electricity Transmission Project, through the BIKAS sub-Activity, is intended to have significant and positive social benefits. The principal idea of benefit-sharing is to share the benefits resulting from infrastructure projects in order to satisfy the electricity needs of the concerned communities. The BIKAS sub-Activity intends to explore the provision of electricity and associated services to gain acceptance of the affected communities, keeping in mind the demographic and social context of those communities. Section B.1.a.iii of this Annex I further outlines proposed activities to better address social inclusion and gender integration issues related to the power sector.
