Skill Indicators. An employee is required to demonstrate some of the following in the performance of his or her work: (i) Acts as a preceptor / mentor for other Registered Nurses Division 2 and Personal Care Workers, and/or (ii) Assists to develop and sustain an environment that supports excellence in clinical practice and resident care. This may involve role modelling through identification, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement activities that add value to the resident and the Employer. 'Pay Point 7β means the Pay Point to which an employee shall be appointed as a Registered Nurse Division 2 where the employee possesses and may be required to utilise a level of nursing skill and knowledge based on: (a) In addition to the experience, skills and knowledge requirements specified for pay point 6 (as defined), not more than one further year of practical experience as defined in the provision of nursing care and/or services; (1) the undertaking of in service training, subject to its provision by the employing agency, of not less than 200 hours accumulated since registration. This may include successful completion of Self Directed Learning Packages; or (2) the successful completion of three post basic modules relevant to the work undertaken, within the Certificate IV Health (Nursing), subject to their availability; or (3) the undertaking of in service training (includes self directed learning packages), subject to its provision by the employing agency, of not less than 160 hours accumulated since registration and the successful completion of one post basic module relevant to the work undertaken within the Certificate IV Health (Nursing), subject to their availability. Skill Indicators (b) An employee is required to demonstrate some of the following in the performance of his or her work: (1) Support and participate in research programs of the organisation, or (2) Demonstrate leadership (other than as a Team Leader) within the Registered Nurse Division 2 team and influences others in both the internal and external environment to promote optimal care to individual residents and best practice. This may involve participation on committees, task forces, interdisciplinary and interdepartmental forums concerned with resident care and nursing practice. Pay Point 8 Training and Experience
