Shift Substitutions Clause Samples
The Shift Substitutions clause establishes the rules and procedures for replacing scheduled employees with substitutes for specific work shifts. Typically, this clause outlines how and when an employee may arrange for another qualified individual to cover their shift, including any required approvals or notification timelines. Shift Substitutions. Employees assigned and working in the Communications Division or the Operations Support Division of the San ▇▇▇▇ Police Department, or the Communications Division of the San ▇▇▇▇ Fire Department or the Airport Communications Center of the ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇. Mineta San ▇▇▇▇ International Airport, shall be permitted to substitute during scheduled work hours for another individual who is employed in the same capacity if approved by the Department and within guidelines set forth by the Department. Notwithstanding any other provision of this agreement, such substitution shall be excluded in the calculation of the hours for which the employee is otherwise entitled to overtime compensation.
Shift Substitutions. Full-time and regular part-time employees may be allowed shift substitutions in accordance with the following procedures:
Shift Substitutions. SECTION 1. Shift substitutions may be voluntarily undertaken between two employees upon approval of the Fire Chief. The responsibility of repayment rests with the employees involved in the trade. No obligation shall be placed upon the Employer for repayment of time voluntarily substituted or repaid between employees. Substitutions shall be done in a like manner and in accordance with FLSA Standards. Substitutions shall not create any additional financial impact to the city.
SECTION 2. An employee may voluntarily work another employee’s shift but in repayment will have an equal amount of hours that will be transferred into their vacation bank by the employee for whom they worked upon approval by the Fire Chief. Such agreements must be mutually agreed upon by both employees.
