Shift A - Afternoon Shift Sample Clauses
The 'Shift A - Afternoon Shift' clause defines the specific work period designated as the afternoon shift within a workplace or employment agreement. Typically, this clause outlines the start and end times for the afternoon shift, such as from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and may specify which employees are assigned to this shift or how shift rotations are managed. Its core practical function is to clearly establish work hours for scheduling, payroll, and compliance purposes, thereby preventing misunderstandings about employee responsibilities and ensuring smooth operational planning.
Shift A - Afternoon Shift. (i) The afternoon shift consists of eight and one-half (8 1/2) consecutive hours of scheduled time, made up of eight (8) hours of paid work time and one-half (1/2) hour of unpaid time for a lunch break. This shift shall be scheduled between 12:00 hours and 24:00 hours.
(ii) A premium of nine percent (9%) of the hourly straight-time rate shall be paid for all hours worked. All shift premiums are paid only on straight-time earnings for the hours actually worked during the shift. If overtime is worked beyond the hours of the shift, then the overtime payment replaces any shift premium.
