SELF ACTIVATION. Overtime worked as a consequence of self-activation is subject to Department approval that such self-activation was necessary. Self-activation shall be subject to the discretion of the Commissioner under Section 6 of this Article, and the On Call, Standby Duty and Available Status Article, Section 12.
SELF ACTIVATION. Employees shall not self-activate except in compliance with Departmental policy.
SELF ACTIVATION. Self-Activation should only occur when a Police Officer is on duty. When a Police Officer is off duty, self-activation should occur only if the Officer witnesses a felony or threat of serious bodily injury. A Police Officer that observes or becomes aware of any violation of law within the territorial limits of any Party, may exercise Police Powers within the territorial limits of any Party for the purpose of preventing harm to the public, preventing loss or damage to property, engaging and stopping unlawful behavior, investigating possible criminal violations, enforcing or investigating any traffic-related incident or violation, whether or not it was originally observed in their territorial limits, and while on so-called fresh-and-continued pursuit or exigent circumstances as authorized by law.
