Security Assurances, the Business Associate will. a. Implement administrative, physical, and technical safeguards that reasonably and appropriately protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of any electronic Protected Health Information that it creates, receives, maintains, or transmits on behalf of the County as required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and the requirements of Health Insurance Reform, the Security Standards (45CFR Parts 160, 162 & 164); and, effective February 17, 2010, to comply with the provisions of the Security Rule identified in this Agreement.
