Business Associate. “Business Associate” shall generally have the same meaning as the term “business associate” at 45 CFR 160.103, and in reference to the party to this Agreement, shall mean the named Business Associate hereinabove.

Business Associate. For purposes of this Addendum, Business Associate shall include the named Business Associate herein. However, in the event that the Business Associate is otherwise a Covered Entity under the Privacy or Security Rule, that entity may appropriately designate a health care component of the entity, pursuant to 45 CFR § 164.504(a), as the Business Associate for purposes of this Addendum.
Business Associate. “Business Associate” shall generally have the same meaning as the term “business associate” at 45 C.F.R. section 160.103, the HIPAA Regulations, and the HITECH Act, and in reference to a party to this Exhibit shall mean the Contractor identified above. “Business Associate” shall also mean any subcontractor that creates, receives, maintains, or transmits PHI in performing a function, activity, or service delegated by Contractor.
Business Associate. For the purposes of this Agreement, VRC is a business associate of the Practice as defined in 45 C.F.R. §160.103.

Business Associate. “Business Associate” means a person who creates, receives, maintains, or transmits protected health information on behalf of a Covered Entity to accomplish a task regulated by HIPAA and not as a member of the Covered Entity's workforce. A Business Associate shall include, but is not limited to, a non-workforce person/entity who performs data processing/analysis/transmission, billing, benefit management, quality assurance, legal, actuarial, accounting, administrative and/or financial services on behalf of the Covered Entity involving protected health information. A Business Associate also includes a subcontractor.
Business Associate. “Business Associate” shall have the same meaning as the term “business associate” in 45 C.F.R. §160.103 and in reference to the party to this agreement, shall mean Grantee.
