Section 9.8.2. The employee will retain accrued sick leave, vested vacation rights, and seniority rights while 3 on leave of absence. However, vacation credits, sick leave, and seniority shall not accrue while 4 the employee is on leave of absence; provided, however, that if such leave is approved for 5 extended illness or injury, including industrial accident or industrial illness, seniority shall 6 accrue.
