Second Language Sample Clauses
The Second Language clause establishes which language version of a contract or agreement will prevail in the event of discrepancies between multiple language versions. Typically, this clause specifies that if there is a conflict or inconsistency between the translated versions, one designated language—often English—will be considered the authoritative text. This ensures that all parties are clear on which version governs their rights and obligations, thereby preventing misunderstandings and legal disputes arising from translation errors or ambiguities.
Second Language. An employee passing a proficiency language test in Spanish shall be eligible to receive additional pay in the amount of $50 a month. The testing process will be selected by the City. Continued eligibility for this incentive will be dependent upon annual retesting to take place no later than February of each year.

Second language instruction begins in Kindergarten, and is continued throughout. Concepts are integrated and reinforced into regular classrooms where possible.
