Scope and Definition. 1. The provisions of this Chapter shall apply to technical regulations, standards and conformity assessment procedures as defined in the WTO TBT Agreement and to sanitary and phytosanitary measures (hereinafter SPS measures) as defined in the WTO SPS Agreement, in so far as they affect trade between the Parties. 2. For the purposes of this Chapter, unless specified otherwise, the definitions used by the WTO TBT and SPS Agreements, the CODEX Alimentarius, the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) and the World Animal Health Organisation shall apply, including where reference is made to "products" in this chapter.
