Common use of School Bus Driver Clause in Contracts

School Bus Driver. In the event that a field trip is cancelled the day of the trip, said employee will be compensated two (2) hours pay on a scheduled school day, or four (4) hours pay on a non-attendance day. An employee may be utilized as a standby driver as the need arises during the time frame in which they are being compensated. There will be no pyramiding of time. Compensation for field trips shall be at the rate of $15.00 per hour in year one of the agreement, $15.25 per hour in year two of the agreement and $15.50 per hour in year three of the agreement. To be eligible to sign for an out-of-district trip (over thirty-five (35) miles) drivers must have at least two (2) years of experience as a school bus driver and must first drive on a multi-bus trip with another driver who has at least one year seniority. The Union and management shall meet to discuss exceptions to the 2 year rule.
