Sample Collection Procedures. 9.1 Upon the employee’s consent, the Substance Abuse Administrator, department head, or supervisor shall assure that the employee is taken to a designated sample collection site and provides a urine sample and/or is administered an EBT. Upon a positive EBT, the employee shall provide a blood sample in addition to the required sample of urine.
Sample Collection Procedures. SMC has developed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the collection of monitoring data at the East Boulder Mine that meet standards for best practice with sample collection. These same standards are required for GNA AMP sample collection as described in Section 5 and Appendix A of the East Boulder Mine Water Resources Monitoring Plan (Operational) dated March 2018 and prepared by SMC and Hydrometrics. SMC personnel or contactors responsible for the field collection of water monitoring samples required in this AMP must follow documented, step-by-step procedures for calibration of field equipment, collection of field parameters, collection of water quality samples, and documentation. Separate samples are collected for measurement of field parameters and shipment to the laboratory for analysis. Detailed field notes are taken at the time of sample collection, including records of field meter calibration, ambient conditions, and measurement of field parameters. Surface water samples are collected as grab samples, with care taken to suspend the sample bottle in the water to avoid entrainment with sediment. Groundwater samples are collected with the use of permanently installed submersible pumps or a portable pump, after the stagnant water is purged from the well casing. Alternatively, in many xxxxx the sample can be collected using a low-flow micro- purge technique. Static water level in the monitoring well is measured prior to sample collection.
