Common use of Safety Precautions and Environmental Compliance Clause in Contracts

Safety Precautions and Environmental Compliance. The Contractor shall be responsible for taking all necessary precautions for the safety of employees on the work site and shall comply with all applicable provisions of Federal, State, and municipal regulations and building codes to prevent accidents or injuries to persons on, about, or adjacent to the premises where the work is being performed. The work area shall be kept orderly, clean, and free from any unnecessary material and or rubbish. The Contractor shall erect and properly maintain at all times, as required by the conditions and progress of work, all necessary safeguards for the protection of workers and the public. Contractor shall post danger signs warning against the hazards created by such features of construction. The Contractor shall designate a responsible member on the work site whose duty shall be the prevention of accidents. In addition, the Contractor shall comply with all Federal laws as listed on Attachment A “Table of Federal Laws, as Amended”.
