Regular Leave. An employee not affected by the leave of absence rules of the Civil Service Commission of Xxxx County may be granted a leave of absence without pay by the Department Head, with the written approval of the Comptroller of Xxxx County. Such leave shall be intended to take care of emergency situations and shall be limited to one (1) month for every full year of continuous employment by the County and/or Xxxx County Health Facilities, not to exceed one (1) year, except for military service. An employee desiring a leave of absence shall make written application to his/her immediate supervisor, who will then refer the application to the Department Head. If approved by the Department Head, the application will then be forwarded to the Xxxx County Comptroller for consideration. The application shall include the purpose for the leave of absence and the dates for which the leave is requested. An employee granted a leave of absence shall be eligible, when such leave expires, to receive the salary and the same or comparable position at the time the leave was granted. Regular Leave. Any employee desiring leave of absence from employment shall secure written permission from both the Union and the Employer. The maximum leave of absence shall be for one hundred twenty days (120) and may be extended for like periods. Permission for same must be secured from both the Union and Employer. During the period of absence the employee shall not engage in gainful employment. Failure to comply with this provision shall result in the complete loss of seniority rights for the employee involved. Inability to work because of proven sickness or injury shall not result in the loss of seniority rights. The employee must make suit- able arrangements for the continuation of Health and Welfare and Pension payments before the leave may be approved by either the Local Union or the Employer.
Regular Leave. 16 Leaves of absence for advanced study, travel, exchange teaching, health, or any other 17 reason recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board of Education, may 18 be granted to a permanent unit member. Such leave shall be without remuneration. No 19 sick leave or retirement credit shall accrue during the term of such leave. 20
Regular Leave. The Caregiver is entitled to hours of regular leave for the twelve month period beginning on the Commencement Date of this Agreement, and each twelve month period thereafter.
