Reduction in Pay. A Reduction in Pay is a reduction in hourly salary for a limited and defined period of time, and does not result in any classification change. The employee continues to report to work for the duration of the Reduction in Pay.

Reduction in Pay. A Reduction in Pay pay is a temporary reduction in hourly salary to a lower salary step for a limited and defined specified maximum period of time, and does not result in any classification change. The employee continues does not have sudden stoppage of income and may be able to report to work for have the duration reduction lifted by good performance. The department does not lose the services of the Reduction in Payemployee. An individual should have been warned or reprimanded prior to taking this action to advise him or her that his or her performance is not acceptable.
