Common use of Recognized Holidays Clause in Contracts

Recognized Holidays. 2201 For purposes of this Agreement, Recognized (paid) Holidays shall be New Year's Day (January 1st), Xxxxx Xxxx Xxx (la journée Xxxxx Xxxx), Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day (July 1st), Xxxxx Xxx Day (la journée Xxxxx Xxx), Labour Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30th), Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day (November 11th), Christmas Day (December 25th), and Boxing Day (December 26th); and any other statutory holidays declared by federal or provincial authority. 2202 Whenever a Recognized Holiday falls on their scheduled days off, it is understood that this day off in lieu shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date mutually agreed between the Employer and the nurse, or the nurse may request that they receive an extra day’s pay at their basic rate of pay. 2203 A nurse required to work on a Recognized Holiday shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1.50) times their basic pay and in addition it is understood that one (1) day off shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date mutually agreed between the Employer and the nurse, or the nurse may request that they receive an extra day’s pay at the nurse’s basic rate of pay. 2204 A day off given in lieu of a Recognized Holiday shall be added to a weekend off or to scheduled days off unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2205 The Employer agrees to assign time off as equitably as possible over Christmas and New Year's, endeavoring to grant each nurse as many consecutive days off as reasonably possible over either Christmas Day or New Year's Day. As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 A nurse may accumulate up to four (4) days off in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested and granted in accordance with Article 1501. Unless otherwise agreed between the nurse concerned and the Employer, accumulated lieu days must be taken within the fiscal year in which they were earned.

A nurse shall not be required to work Christmas or New Year’s for two (2) consecutive years unless otherwise mutually agreed. As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 A nurse may accumulate up to four five (45) days off in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken consecutively with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested mutually agreed upon between the nurse(s) concerned and granted in accordance with Article 1501the Employer. Unless otherwise mutually agreed between the nurse nurse(s) concerned and the Employer, accumulated lieu days Recognized Holidays must be taken within in the fiscal year in which they were earned. 2207 A nurse working on the shift commencing at or about midnight shall be deemed to have worked on a holiday if the majority of hours worked fall within the day in question regardless of what calendar day any part of such shift was actually worked.

The intent is that there will be no more than twelve (12) paid holidays declared by federal or provincial authorityper calendar year for the duration of this agreement. 2202 Whenever a Recognized Holiday falls on their her/his scheduled days off, it is understood that this the nurse shall receive an extra day off in lieu shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206thereof; the Employer may, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date however, give her/him an extra day's pay at her/his basic rate if mutually agreed between the Employer nurse and the nurse, or the nurse may request that they receive an extra day’s pay at their basic rate of payEmployer. 2203 A nurse required to work on a Recognized Holiday shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1.50) times their her/his basic pay and in addition it is understood that shall receive one (1) day off shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date mutually agreed between the Employer and the nurse, or the nurse may request that they receive an extra day’s pay at the nurse’s her/his basic rate of pay. 2204 A day off given in lieu of a Recognized Holiday shall be added to a weekend off or to scheduled days off unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2205 The Employer agrees to assign time off as equitably as possible over Christmas and New Year's, endeavoring endeavouring to grant each nurse as many consecutive days off as reasonably possible over either Christmas Day or New Year's Day. Requests to utilize accumulated lieu time must be submitted no later than October 1, in order to clear all banks by December 15th of each year, and if not requested, shall be scheduled by the Employer.

Xxxxxx Day and Aboriginal Veterans Day which will be paid at straight time, and in addition it is understood that one (1) day off shall be banked in accordance with Article 22062205, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date mutually agreed between the Employer and the nurse, or the nurse may request that they she/he receive an extra day’s pay at the nurse’s her/his basic rate of pay. 2204 A day off given in lieu of a Recognized Holiday shall be added to a weekend off or to scheduled days off unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2205 The Employer agrees to assign time off as equitably as possible over Christmas and New Year's, endeavoring endeavouring to grant each nurse as many consecutive days off as reasonably possible over either Christmas Day or New Year's Day's. Recognized Holidays. 2201 For purposes of this Agreement, Recognized (paid) Holidays shall be New Year's Day (January 1st), Xxxxx Xxxx Xxx Day (la journée Xxxxx Xxxx), Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day (July 1st), Xxxxx Xxx Day (la journée Xxxxx Xxx)the first Monday in August, Labour Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30th), Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day (November 11th), Christmas Day (December 25th), and Boxing Day (December 26th); and any other statutory holidays declared by federal or provincial authority. 2202 Whenever a Recognized Holiday falls on their her/his scheduled days off, it is understood that this day off in lieu shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date mutually agreed between the Employer and the nurse, or the nurse may request that they she/he receive an extra day’s pay at their her/his basic rate of pay. 2203 A nurse required to work on a Recognized Holiday shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1.50) times their her/his basic pay and in addition it is understood that one (1) day off shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date mutually agreed between the Employer and the nurse, or the nurse may request that they she/he receive an extra day’s pay at the nurse’s her/his basic rate of pay. 2204 A day off given in lieu of a Recognized Holiday shall be added to a weekend off or to scheduled days off unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2205 The Employer agrees to assign time off as equitably as possible over Christmas and New Year's, endeavoring endeavouring to grant each nurse as many consecutive days off as reasonably possible over either Christmas Day or New Year's Day. As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 A nurse may accumulate up to four (4) days off in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested and granted in accordance with Article 1501. Unless otherwise agreed between the nurse concerned and the Employer, accumulated lieu days must be taken within the fiscal year in which they were earned.

The nurses and the Union will be provided with any changes to these policies if and when they occur. 2202 Whenever a Recognized Holiday falls on their scheduled days off, it is understood that this day off in lieu shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date mutually agreed between the Employer and the nurse, 2205 or the nurse may request that they receive an extra day’s pay at their basic rate of pay. 2203 A nurse required to work on a Recognized Holiday shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1.50) times their basic pay and in addition it is understood that one (1) day off shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date mutually agreed between the Employer and the nurse, 2205 or the nurse may request that they receive an extra day’s pay at the nurse’s their basic rate of pay. 2204 A day off given in lieu of a Recognized Holiday shall be added to a weekend off or to scheduled days off unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2205 The Employer agrees to assign time off as equitably as possible over Christmas and New Year's, endeavoring endeavouring to grant each nurse as many consecutive days off as reasonably possible over either Christmas Day or New Year's DayDay with a minimum of five (5) consecutive days off if at all possible. As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 2205 A nurse may accumulate up to four (4) days off in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested on dates mutually agreed between the Employer and granted in accordance with Article 1501nurse. Unless otherwise agreed between the nurse concerned and the Employer, accumulated lieu days must be taken within the fiscal year in which they were earned.

As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 A nurse may accumulate up to four (4) days off in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken consecutively with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested and granted in accordance with Article 1501vacation. Unless otherwise mutually agreed between the nurse nurse(s) concerned and the Employer, accumulated lieu days Recognized Holidays must be taken within the fiscal calendar year in which they were earnedat a mutually acceptable time. 2207 Unless otherwise mutually agreed, a nurse who is assigned to work a weekend shall be assigned and will work on a Recognized Holiday that falls on the Friday or Monday consecutive with that weekend.

Nurses 2206 A nurse working on the shift commencing at or about midnight shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years deemed to have worked on a Holiday if the majority of hours worked falls within that Holiday in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreedquestion regardless of what calendar day any part of such shift was actually worked. 2206 2207 Assignment of Recognized Holidays on the actual day of their occurrence shall be made as equitably as reasonably possible. 2208 A nurse may accumulate up to four (4) days off in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested and granted in accordance with Article 1501. Unless otherwise agreed between the nurse concerned and the Employer, accumulated lieu days must be taken within the fiscal year in which they were earned. Requests to utilize accumulated lieu time must be submitted no later than October 1st, in order to clear all banks by December 15th of each year, and if not requested, shall be scheduled by the Employer.

The March Float Holiday is payable at straight time. For full time nurses only the March Float holiday shall be taken thirty (December 26th); and any other statutory 30) days before or after March 17, provided the Employer receives the minimum of eighteen days notice in order to obtain suitable replacement staff. If suitable time off cannot be arranged, the Employer will schedule the March Float within the specified time periods. Under normal circumstances a full-time nurse will receive the day off with pay. If another federal, provincial or municipal, etc., holiday should be proclaimed during the term of this Agreement, such additional proclaimed holiday will replace the Holiday “March Float”. The intent is that there will be no more than twelve (12) paid holidays declared by federal or provincial authorityper calendar year for the duration of this Agreement. Recognized Holidays. 2201 For purposes of this Agreement, Recognized (paid) Holidays shall be New Year's Day (January 1st), Xxxxx Xxxx Xxx (la journée Xxxxx Xxxx), Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day (July 1st)Day, Xxxxx Xxx Day (la journée Xxxxx Xxx)the first Monday in August, Labour Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30th), Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day (November 11th)Day, Christmas Day (December 25th), and Boxing Day (December 26th); and any other statutory holidays declared by federal or provincial authority. 2202 Whenever a Recognized Holiday falls on their her/his scheduled days off, it is understood that this the nurse shall receive an extra day off in lieu shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206thereof; the Employer may, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date however, give her/him an extra day's pay at her/his basic rate if mutually agreed between the Employer nurse and the nurse, or the nurse may request that they receive an extra day’s pay at their basic rate of payEmployer. 2203 A nurse required to work on a Recognized Holiday shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1.50) times their her/his basic pay and in addition it is understood that shall receive one (1) day off shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date mutually agreed between the Employer and the nurse, or the nurse may request that they receive an extra day’s pay at the nurse’s her/his basic rate of pay. 2204 A day off given in lieu of a Recognized Holiday shall be added to a weekend off or to scheduled days off unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2205 The Employer agrees to assign time off as equitably as possible over Christmas and New Year's, endeavoring endeavouring to grant each nurse as many consecutive days off as reasonably possible over either Christmas Day or New Year's Day. As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 A nurse may accumulate up to four (4) days off in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested and granted in accordance with Article 1501. Unless otherwise agreed between the nurse concerned and the Employer, accumulated lieu days must be taken within the fiscal year in which they were earned.

As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 A nurse may accumulate up to four (4) days off in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested and granted in accordance with Article 1501. Unless otherwise agreed between the nurse concerned and the EmployerCare Home, accumulated lieu days must be taken within the fiscal year in which they were earned. 2207 Assignment of Recognized Holidays on the actual day of their occurrence shall be made as equitably as reasonably possible.

As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 A nurse may accumulate up to four (4) days off in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken consecutively with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested and granted in accordance with Article 1501vacation. Unless otherwise mutually agreed between the nurse nurse(s) concerned and the Employer, accumulated lieu days Recognized Holidays must be taken within the fiscal year at a mutually acceptable time. Any banked days not scheduled by January 1st for use by March 31st will be assigned by the Employer in which they were earnedconsultation with the nurse. 2207 Unless otherwise mutually agreed, a nurse who is assigned to work a weekend shall be assigned and will work on a Recognized Holiday that falls on the Friday or Monday consecutive with that weekend.

Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 A nurse may accumulate up to four (4) days off in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken consecutively with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested and granted in accordance with Article 1501vacation. Unless otherwise mutually agreed between the nurse nurse(s) concerned and the Employer, accumulated lieu days Recognized Holidays must be taken within the fiscal year at a mutually acceptable time. A nurse shall not be required to work Christmas or New Year’s for two (2) consecutive years unless otherwise mutually agreed. As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 A full-time nurse may accumulate up to four a total of five (45) days off (inclusive of the Float Holiday) in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested the nurse requests in writing and granted receives approval in accordance with Article clause 1501. Unless otherwise agreed between the nurse concerned Employer and the Employernurse, accumulated days in lieu days of Recognized Holidays must be taken within the fiscal calendar year in which they were earned. 2207 A nurse working on the shift commencing at or about midnight shall be deemed to have worked on a Recognized Holiday if the majority of hours worked fall within the day in question regardless of what calendar day any part of such shift was actually worked.

As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 2006 A nurse may accumulate up to four (4) days off in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested and granted in accordance with Article 15011301. Unless otherwise agreed between the nurse concerned and the EmployerCare Home, accumulated lieu days must be taken within the fiscal year in which they were earned. Lieu days are only accumulated when a Statutory Holiday is worked.

Recognized Holidays. 2201 For purposes the purpose of this Agreement, Paid Recognized (paid) Holidays shall be be: New Year's ’s Day (January 1st), Xxxxx Xxxx Xxx (la journée Xxxxx Xxxx), Thanksgiving Day Good Friday, Easter Monday, Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day, Day Christmas Day Canada Day (July 1st), Xxxxx Xxx Day (la journée Xxxxx Xxx), Labour Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30th), Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day (November 11th), Christmas Day (December 25th), and 1) Boxing Day August Civic Holiday Labour Day Xxxxx Xxxx Day A March Float holiday will be granted to each full-time and part-time nurses. The March Float Holiday is payable at straight time. For full time nurses only the March Float holiday shall be taken thirty (December 26th); and any other statutory 30) days before or after March 17, provided the Employer receives the minimum of eighteen days notice in order to obtain suitable replacement staff. If suitable time off cannot be arranged, the Employer will schedule the March Float within the specified time periods. Under normal circumstances a full-time nurse will receive the day off with pay. If another federal, provincial or municipal, etc., holiday should be proclaimed during the term of this Agreement, such additional proclaimed holiday will replace the Holiday “March Float”. The intent is that there will be no more than twelve (12) paid holidays declared by federal or provincial authorityper calendar year for the duration of this Agreement. It is understood that the “March Float” is payable at straight time. 2202 Whenever a Recognized Holiday falls on their her/his scheduled days off, it is understood that this the nurse shall receive an extra day off in lieu shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206thereof; the Employer may, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date however, give her/him an extra day's pay at her/his basic rate if mutually agreed between the Employer nurse and the nurse, or the nurse may request that they receive an extra day’s pay at their basic rate of payEmployer. 2203 A nurse required to work on a Recognized Holiday shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1.50) times their her/his basic pay and in addition it is understood that shall receive one (1) day off shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206, or the nurse may request that a day in lieu of the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date mutually agreed between the Employer and the nurse, or the nurse may request that they receive an extra day’s pay at the nurse’s her/his basic rate of pay. 2204 A day off given in lieu of a Recognized Holiday shall be added to a weekend off or to scheduled days off unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2205 The Employer agrees to assign time off as equitably as possible over Christmas and New Year's, endeavoring endeavouring to grant each nurse as many consecutive days off as reasonably possible over either Christmas Day or New Year's Day. As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 A nurse may accumulate up to four (4) days off in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested and granted in accordance with Article 1501. Unless otherwise agreed between the nurse concerned and the Employer, accumulated lieu days must be taken within the fiscal year in which they were earned. Requests to utilize accumulated lieu time must be submitted no later than October 1, in order to clear all banks by December 15th of each year, and if not requested, shall be scheduled by the Employer. 2207 A nurse working on the shift commencing at or about midnight shall be deemed to have worked on a holiday if the majority of hours worked falls within that holiday in question regardless of what calendar day any part of such shift was actually worked. 2208 Assignment of Recognized Holidays on the actual day of their occurrence shall be made as equitably as reasonably possible.

A nurse shall not be required to work Christmas or New Year’s for two (2) consecutive years unless otherwise mutually agreed. As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 A full-time nurse may accumulate up to four a total of five (45) days off (inclusive of the Float Holiday) in lieu of Recognized Holidays to be taken with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested the nurse requests in writing and granted receives approval in accordance with Article clause 1501. Unless otherwise agreed between the nurse concerned Employer and the Employernurse, accumulated days in lieu days of Recognized Holidays must be taken within the fiscal calendar year in which they were earned.

The Board will be in compliance of Employment StandardsAct. Canada Day (July Recognized paid Holiday shall be deemed as a holiday on a day other than during the work year as between the parties. The work day on December and December will be shortenedby one-half (1.50) times their basic without loss of pay and in addition it is understood that for regular employees. Each regular employee shall be entitled to one (1) floatingholiday per calendar year. Entitlement shall begin after the member’s probationary period. Employees employed on a less that full time basis shall have this holiday pro-rated. Such day off is to be scheduled at a date agreed to by the member and the member’s supervisor. Such request shall not unreasonablybe denied Noon Hour Assistants The following are the Recognized Holidays for which a Noon Hour Assistant shall be banked in accordance with Article 2206paid at the employee’s regular rate of pay provided the employee works the employee’s regularly scheduled work day before and after such holiday unless the employeeis on vacation, paid sick leave, jury or witness duty, or short-term paid leave or unpaid leave of absence which has been authorized by the nurse may request that a day in lieu of Board and which does not exceed fifteen 5) work days immediately preceding the Recognized Holiday be scheduled on a date mutually agreed between the Employer and the nurse, or the nurse may request that they receive an extra day’s pay at the nurse’s basic rate of pay. 2204 A day off given in lieu of a Recognized Holiday shall be added to a weekend off or to scheduled days off unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2205 The Employer agrees to assign time off as equitably as possible over Christmas and Holiday: New Year's’s Day, endeavoring to grant each nurse as many consecutive days off as reasonably possible over either Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, ThanksgivingDay, Christmas Day or New Year's Day, Boxing Day; and Labour Day. As much as reasonably possible, Christmas Eve and Boxing Day shall The Board will be assigned with Christmas Day; New Year's Eve shall be assigned with New Year's Day, unless otherwise mutually agreed. Nurses shall be assigned time off over Christmas or New Years in alternate years unless otherwise mutually agreed. 2206 A nurse may accumulate up to four (4) days off in lieu compliance of Recognized Holidays to be taken with scheduled days off or to complete a partial week of vacation or at such other time as is requested and granted in accordance with Article 1501.
