Recesses. The following unpaid recess periods shall be provided. 1. Thanksgiving recess – one (1) day in addition to the holiday. 2. Winter recess – a minimum of five (5) school days in addition to the two (2) holidays. 3. Spring recess – Spring recess will be at least three (3) days. If Spring recess is only 3 days, then Presidents’ Day will be a vacation day. For the purposes of the Article, a week day shall be defined as any day except Saturday and Sunday. The Association may submit to the Superintendent of Schools prior to January 1 a recommendation for consideration by the Board of recess periods listed in this section for the next school year.
