Qualifying Military Family Covered Active Duty-related Exigencies. (a) Short-notice deployment. Issues arising from a military member being notified of an impending call or order to covered active duty seven (7) or fewer calendar days prior to the date of deployment. (b) Military events and related activities. These include official ceremonies related to the covered active duty. These include family support or assistance programs. (c) Childcare and school activities. These include arranging for alternative school placement or childcare when the covered active duty or call to covered active duty status necessitates a change in the existing childcare arrangement for a child. Direct childcare on an urgent, immediate need basis may be covered. (d) Financial and legal arrangements. These include making financial or legal arrangements to address the military member’s absence while on covered active duty. (e) To act as the military member’s representative before a Federal, state, or local agency for purposes of obtaining, arranging, or appealing military service benefits while the military member is on covered active duty and for a period of ninety (90) calendar days following the termination of the military member’s covered active duty status.
