Common use of PROFESSIONAL EVALUATION PROCEDURE Clause in Contracts

PROFESSIONAL EVALUATION PROCEDURE. ‌ 10.01 A standards-based teacher evaluation program which conforms to the framework for the evaluation of teachers, as approved by the State Board of Education, has been implemented by the parties. The Board’s policy for teacher evaluation was developed in consultation with teachers and aligns with the Standards for the Teaching Profession as set forth in state law. The Board and Association agree to implement the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES) Performance Rubric as the tool to be used to evaluate teacher performance. 10.02 An evaluation program which conforms to the framework for the evaluation of school counselors, as approved by the State Board of Education, has been implemented by the parties. The Board policy for school counselor 10.03 Unit members who are subject to evaluation under OTES and/or OSCES shall be evaluated according to the Board’s standards-based teacher evaluation policy and/or school counselor evaluation policy (as applicable), as such policies may be amended from time to time. The joint evaluation committee shall recommend updates and amendments to these policies, as required by law and or as deemed necessary by the parties. The Board-approved standards-based teacher evaluation policy and the school counselor evaluation policy shall be considered part of this Master Agreement (found in Addendum G, Teacher Evaluation), and a violation, misinterpretation or misapplication of these policies is subject to remedy through grievance procedure of this Master Agreement.
