Common use of Professional Development Subsidy Clause in Contracts

Professional Development Subsidy. 12.01 The Board will allocate the sum of four thousand three hundred dollars ($4,300) per school year for the purpose of paying the tuition cost of professional courses and the cost of professional course materials to a maximum of one hundred dollars ($100) per course. Teachers wishing to apply for the above course subsidy shall make application to the Board for approval of the course(s) they wish a subsidy for three weeks prior to commencement of the course(s). Within thirty (30) days of receipt of the course(s) ▇▇▇▇, the teacher shall submit proof of satisfactory completion of the course, original receipts for the tuition and the cost of course materials in accordance with standard audit practice. 12.02 University courses leading to a degree or Ministry of Education courses which have been approved by the Superintendent of Education are eligible for being considered for the course subsidy. 12.03 Only those teachers who have been in the employ of the Board for one (1) full year or ten months of teaching and who continue in the employ of the Board for the year following successful completion of the course(s) are eligible for the course subsidy. 12.04 The parties agree that matters pertaining to the allocation of funds under this Article will be referred to the Professional Development Committee for recommendations as required to ensure equitable opportunities and access.
