Procedure Step 2. If the grievance is not resolved at Step 1, the grievant may, within seven (7) days of receipt of the Step 1 response, forward a written copy of the grievance to the Superintendent of School indicating the reason for dissatisfaction with the decision of the Principal and stating the redress sought. The Superintendent shall conduct a meeting with the grievant and the Association within ten (10) days of receipt of the grievance and shall provide a written response to the grievant/Association within seven (7) days of said meeting.
Procedure Step 2. If the Employee, or authorised representative of the Employee, does not comply with the requirements in Procedure Step 1 (ii), the Employer shall have the right to advise the Employee in writing that the Employee’s employment has been deemed to have been abandoned with effect from:
(a) the date of the last attendance of the Employee at work; or
(b) the last day in respect of which consent for absence was granted; or
Procedure Step 2. If the grievant is not satisfied with the disposition of the grievance at Step 1, or if no decision has been rendered within ten (10) work days after the Step 1 meeting, then the grievance must be referred to the Executive Director of Human Resources/designee within fifteen (15) work days after the Step 1 meeting or the grievance will be considered withdrawn. The Executive Director of Human Resources/designee shall arrange for a hearing with the grievant to take place within ten (10) work days of receipt of the appeal. The parties shall have the right to be represented and to present such witnesses and documents as they deem necessary to develop facts pertinent to the grievance. Upon conclusion of the hearing, the Executive Director of Human Resources/designee will have ten (10) work days to provide a written decision, together with the reason(s) for the decision to the grievant and the Union.
Procedure Step 2. If the Employee, or authorised representative of the Employee, does not comply with the requirements in Procedure Step 1(b), the Employer shall have the right to advise the Employee in writing that the Employee’s employment has been deemed to have been abandoned effective immediately.
