Common use of Pets/Animals Clause in Contracts

Pets/Animals. Resident shall not be allowed to have or bring, even temporarily, any animal (including mammals, reptiles, birds, fish, rodents, or insects) anywhere in the Premises at any time, except by prior written consent of Landlord. If Landlord agrees to permit Resident an animal (“pet”), both Resident and Landlord must sign a separate pet agreement or addendum. Resident’s bringing into or onto the Premises or the keeping or possession of any animal for any duration without Landlord’s written consent shall constitute a violation of this Lease. In any action brought by Landlord to enforce this paragraph, Resident shall bear the burden of proof regarding any pet’s status or removal.
