Permanent Maintenance Clause Samples
The Permanent Maintenance clause establishes an ongoing obligation for one party, typically in a family law or divorce context, to provide financial support to the other party indefinitely. This support may be in the form of regular payments intended to maintain the recipient's standard of living after separation or divorce, and it usually continues unless specific conditions, such as remarriage or death, occur. The core function of this clause is to ensure long-term financial stability for a spouse who may not be self-sufficient, addressing disparities in earning capacity and lifestyle post-divorce.

Where these conditions are met, the Employee shall be paid the amount set out in Appendix A to this Part in lieu of the payments set out above in this clause.
