PEOPLE Deductions. Request for any of the above shall be made on a form agreed to by the parties. 9.01. Upon notification by the Union of an appropriate written authorization from an Employee, such authorized deductions shall be made in accordance with the law and shall be remitted biweekly to the Union at the address designated in writing to the Employer by the Union. The Union shall advise the Employer of any increase in dues or other approved deductions in writing at least fifteen (15) days prior to its effective date. 9.02. Employer shall be obligated to make such deductions until notified in writing that the Employee is revoking or amending Employer’s authorization. Deductions shall be made in accordance with the terms of an employee’s written authorization. 9.03. The Employer shall rely on the information provided by the Union regarding whether deductions are properly authorized, revoked, canceled, or changed. The Union shall indemnify, defend and hold the Employer harmless against any claim, demand, suit, liability, damages and costs of defense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from any action taken by the Employer in complying with this Article.
