Common use of Payroll Register Clause in Contracts

Payroll Register. The COUNTY recommends that a Payroll Register be maintained for recording all payroll transactions. The Register should contain the following:  Name  Position  Social Security Number (at a minimum last four digits of the SSN)  Salary (hourly wage)  Payment Record including: - Accrual Period - Gross Pay - Itemized Payroll Deductions - Net Pay Amount - Check Number If a Payroll Register is not used, the information discussed above must be recorded in the cash disbursements journal. CONTRACTOR will ensure compliance with all applicable federal and State requirements for withholding payroll taxes (e.g., FIT, FICA, FUTA, SIT, SIU, etc.), reporting, filing (e.g., 941, DE-7, W-2, W-4 and 1099s), and all applicable tax deposits. CONTRACTOR will ensure compliance with Internal Revenue Service guidelines in properly classifying employees and independent contractors.
