Payrates. (i) Schedule 1 sets out the current rates of pay (i.e. the rates of pay prior to the Lodgement Date) for employees who fall within the classifications up to and including Grade 7 in the Community First grading system (including Ex-Elcom employees).
(ii) Community First will increase the actual pay rates for current employees by 4% on 1 July 2007 and by 3.5% on 1 July 2008.
(iii) Part time employees will be paid at an hourly “ordinary time rate of pay” being 1/37.5th of the weekly salary rate applicable to a full time employee of the same classification (or 1/36th where the employee is a full time employee who has been employed continuously by Community First since before the Elcom Merger).
(iv) Notwithstanding sub-paragraphs (i) and (ii), Community First will undertake a reclassification and pay equalisation process for Ex-Elcom employees as follows:
(a) Community First will ensure that the actual pay rates for Ex-Elcom employees will be increased by such further amount as is necessary to ensure that, on and from the first anniversary of the Lodgement Date, those pay rates become equal to the pay rates of current employees who are not Ex-Elcom employees but who are of the same classification as the relevant Ex-Elcom employees after the re-classification process set out in sub-clause 6(i)(a) below (“Comparitor Employees”). This will be done by: • calculating the difference between the existing rates of pay for the relevant ex-Elcom employees and the Comparitor Employees (as at the day prior to the Lodgement Date); • adding 50% of the difference between the corresponding rates of pay to the pay rates for ex-Elcom employees from the Lodgement Date (in addition to the general 4% increase); • adding an amount to the pay rates for Ex-Elcom employees from the first anniversary of the Lodgement Date (in addition to the general 3.5% increase) which is sufficient to ensure that their rates become equal to their Comparitor Employees from that date.
(b) For the purposes of this sub-clause, Ex-Elcom employees will be re- classified so that they receive a grading within Community First’s standard grading system. This will be done using a “like work” comparison of Elcom classifications and Community First gradings using job descriptions. Community First will determine the appropriate comparison and re-classifications after considering the joint recommendation of a sub-committee of the existing EBA committee. This process will be undertaken during the life of the agreemen...
