Patching Joint Clause Samples

A Patching Joint clause defines the requirements and standards for the construction and treatment of joints where new patching material meets existing surfaces. Typically, this clause specifies the preparation of the joint area, the type of materials to be used, and the method for ensuring a seamless and durable connection between old and new work. For example, it may require cleaning, priming, or shaping the edges before applying the patching compound. The core function of this clause is to ensure the integrity and longevity of repairs by preventing cracks, water ingress, or separation at the interface between patched and original materials.
