PASSING GRADE Clause Samples

The Passing Grade clause defines the minimum academic performance required for a student to successfully complete a course or program. Typically, it specifies a numerical or letter grade threshold—such as 60% or a 'C'—that must be achieved on assessments, assignments, or overall course results. This clause ensures that students meet a standard level of competency before advancing or receiving credit, thereby maintaining academic quality and setting clear expectations for both students and instructors.
PASSING GRADE. Tuition, certification fees, and textbook costs involved in educational courses which may be taken by an employee and which pertain to his/her City employment, shall be reimbursed to said employee by the City. The employee participating must achieve a passing grade of a “C” or better, Credit/No Credit or a Certificate of Completion and should see that the Human Resources Manager receives a copy, where appropriate, of the employee’s grade(s) before any reimbursement.
PASSING GRADE. If one is qualified for promotion under the criteria set forth in Section 1 above, he/she shall not be disqualified from further examination by receiving a less than passing grade on either the written or oral part of the examination.
