Paid Maternity Leave Plan. 1. Effective on the first day of the month following the signing of this agreement, a paid Maternity Leave Plan will be established for claims which originate on or after that date. The plan will provide maternity leave benefits in the event of childbirth or the adoption of a child less than one year old of an amount that, when added to Employment Insurance Maternity Benefits, will result in the employee receiving 70% of her weekly base pay with no maximum amount for those weeks during which she receives Employment Insurance Maternity Benefits, i.e., for a maximum of 15 weeks.
