Overtime on Holidays. If the District requires an employee to work on any holiday designated by this agreement, the employee shall be compensated at one and one-half (1-1/2) times the regular rate of pay in addition to receiving holiday pay. If a holiday designated by this agreement falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the employee will be compensated at one and one-half (1-1/2) times the regular rate of pay, if the holiday pay was provided on a weekday. If an employee works beyond an eight (8) hour day, the employee shall be compensated at two and one-half (2 - 1/2) times the regular rate of pay.

Overtime on Holidays. An employee who actually worked on the day when one of the holidays listed in Article XIII is observed by the Borough except as provided below shall be entitled to premium pay computed at two (2) times the regular hourly rate for the hours so worked on that day. Hourly rate is established by dividing the employee’s annual base salary by 2080 working hours for public works employees and 1820 for administrative/clerical employees. On New Year’s Day, Independence Day and Christmas Day, an employee actually working on the day of the holiday and not on the day it is observed by the Borough, shall be entitled to the premium pay as computed above. Paid compensation for overtime work shall be provided to all public works employees. Administrative/clerical employees may choose to be credited with compensatory time off in lieu of pay. Overtime pay or compensatory time off shall not be pyramided.
Overtime on Holidays. Employees shall receive one and one-half (1½) times their regular hourly rate for all regularly scheduled shifts or partial shifts worked on any of the thirteen (13) recognized holidays and shall also receive another equal day off, such day to be scheduled on a mutually agreeable date. Employees not assigned to work on a recognized holiday will receive some other eight (8) hour day off with pay, such day off to be scheduled on a mutually agreeable date. An employee who is called in by the EMPLOYER to work on a holiday they were not scheduled for will be paid one and one-half (1 ½) time their regular hourly rate and will bank one-hour holiday time for each hour worked. (An employee will not bank holiday hours in the case of contracted overtime or when the overtime is paid for with grant funds).
