Common use of Overtime Computation Clause in Contracts

Overtime Computation. All overtime shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1½) times the nurse’s regular hourly rate of pay. For purposes of computing overtime, the nurse’s regular hourly rate of pay shall include shift differential if the nurse is regularly scheduled to work the second (evening) or third (night) shifts as well as certification and education pay. All time worked in excess of twelve (12) consecutive hours shall be paid for at double the employee’s regular hourly rate of pay unless the nurse is scheduled for a 10 or 12 hour shift, in which case double time shall be paid only for time worked beyond the 14th consecutive hour. Overtime shall be computed to the nearest one-quarter (1/4) hour.
