Common use of Overtime Availability Clause in Contracts

Overtime Availability. All overtime shall be offered equally to all qualified employees in their classification except: A. in case of emergency, B. when it becomes necessary for the proper and efficient operation of the Police Division, C. when a particular employee with special skills or qualifications is needed. Notwithstanding the prior exceptions, the City shall make all reasonable efforts to equalize overtime within a six (6) month period of time. The City will document manpower overtime offered, worked, or refused.
