Common use of Opening of Bid Clause in Contracts

Opening of Bid. Bids will be opened and read at the time and place stated in the Invitation to Bid. The contents may be made public in accordance with Section 2.2-4342 of the Code of Virginia. The officer or agent of the City, whose duty it is to open them, will decide when the specified time has arrived. No responsibility will be attached to any officer or agent for the premature opening of a bid not properly addressed and identified.
