Notification to Supervisor. Except for periods of brief duration, the representative or employee will ask his/her immediate supervisor for permission to take time away from work and will provide the following information to the supervisor as far in advance as possible: 1. Purpose of official/reasonable time 2. Organization, room number, and telephone number where the time will be used 3. Estimated amount of time to be used 4. Date and hour proposed for use of the time
