Notice Approval. Vacation time may be taken only after the staff member has given prior notice to and received the written approval of his department head. Where a staff member has an earned vacation balance which has not been previously scheduled on or before July 1, the Supervisor will meet with the staff member to determine a schedule of such vacation time so that no accrued vacation time will be lost.
