Non-Assigned Training Clause Samples
The Non-Assigned Training clause defines how training activities that are not specifically assigned or required by the employer are handled within the agreement. Typically, this clause clarifies whether employees may participate in optional or self-initiated training sessions, and if so, whether such training is eligible for reimbursement or considered as work time. For example, it may state that only pre-approved training will be compensated, while voluntary courses taken outside of work hours are not covered. The core function of this clause is to set clear boundaries regarding the employer's obligations for training, preventing misunderstandings about compensation and responsibility for non-mandated professional development.
Non-Assigned Training. The Appointing Authority may approve release time and reimbursement for non-assigned training in accord with the applicable Administrative Procedure on employee training. Any expenses for reimbursements shall be in accord with this Article.
