Milestone Payment Plan Clause Samples

A Milestone Payment Plan clause outlines a schedule for payments to be made upon the completion of specific project milestones rather than on a fixed timeline or upon final delivery. Typically, this clause details the particular deliverables or stages that trigger each payment, such as design approval, prototype completion, or final testing, and may specify the amount or percentage of the total contract price due at each stage. Its core practical function is to align payments with progress, incentivizing timely completion of key tasks and reducing financial risk for both parties by ensuring that compensation is tied to tangible results.
