Merit Assignment Program. SECTION 1. For two years from the effective date of this Agreement, the initial area of consideration for bargaining unit positions at the GS-13 level and below filled through EDA’s Merit Assignment Program shall be limited to current EDA employees serving in career or career conditional appointments. SECTION 2. If three (3) or more current EDA employees are ranked as best qualified under Merit Assignment procedures, the selecting official will receive a certificate consisting solely of those names, up to a maximum of ten (10). SECTION 3. If the initial area of consideration does not yield at least three (3) best qualified candidates, or the selecting official does not make a selection from the initial certificate, the area of consideration may be expanded.
Merit Assignment Program. The identification, qualification, evaluation and selection of candidates shall be made without regard to political, religious, or labor organization affiliation or non-affiliation, marital status, race, color, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, and non-disqualifying mental or physical disability. The Employer will evaluate candidates and make selections for promotion only on the basis of merit and job-related factors. The actions covered by this Article are governed by the procedures of the DOC/NOAA Merit Assignment Program (MAP) Plan, October 2005, unless otherwise stated.

  • Shift Assignment Should the University elect to establish a shift on any other schedule than the regular day shift (Monday through Friday) or to assign employees to work on any such shift, the employee(s) with the most seniority in the classification affected or to be assigned on such shift shall have preference in moving to such shift. If an insufficient number of employees in the classification elect to move to such shift, then the employee(s) with the least seniority in the classification shall be assigned to such shift. If positions or shifts are reduced or eliminated or movement of personnel to other shifts is required, then the seniority of the affected employee will prevail in the selection of shift, provided the affected employee can do the required work. Such shift preference is only applicable within the employee's classification.

  • Benefit; Assignment Subject to provisions herein to the contrary, this Agreement shall inure to the benefit of and be binding upon the parties hereto and their respective legal representatives, successors and assigns. No party may assign this Agreement without the prior written consent of the other party; provided, however, that a party hereto may assign its interest (or a portion thereof) in this Agreement to an Affiliate, but, in such event, the assignor shall be required to remain obligated hereunder in the same manner as if such assignment had not been effected.

  • Assignment, Etc The Holder may assign or transfer this Note to any transferee at its sole discretion. This Note shall be binding upon the Company and its successors and shall inure to the benefit of the Holder and its successors and permitted assigns.

  • Patent Assignment Seller hereby sells, assigns, transfers and conveys to Purchaser all right, title and interest it has in and to the Patents and all inventions and discoveries described therein, including without limitation, all rights of Seller under the Assignment Agreements, and all rights of Seller to collect royalties under such Patents.
