Common use of Meal Breaks and Allowances Clause in Contracts

Meal Breaks and Allowances. (1) The Employer will provide a meal, or pay a meal allowance in the sum of eight dollars ($8.00), when an employee is required to work four (4) hours before or after his/her regular shift without a meal break and in six (6) hour increments thereafter if he/she continues working without a meal break. (2) Meal allowances shall be paid no later than the end of the first pay period after the pay period in which the meal allowance is earned.
