Mandatory Notice. The individual teacher shall be responsible to inform the school Administration as soon as the affected teacher has knowledge of impending need to take time off from work for any reason whatsoever. In those cases, where the cause for the absence arises on an emergency basis so that the involved teacher cannot supply advance notice, then the information is to be furnished to the Administration at the earliest moment after the teacher becomes aware of the necessity to be absent. Violations of this notice requirement will invalidate any claim for a compensable day off and shall cause such lost time, not covered by notice, to be deemed "unexcused". Absences for three (3) days without giving notice shall be considered and treated as a "voluntary quit without proper notice" except in cases where it is physically impossible for the teacher to give notice or cause such notice to be given.
