Common use of Maintenance Work Clause in Contracts

Maintenance Work. a) Maintenance work is hereby classified as painting, chipping, soogeeing, scraping, or working on ships gear. Deck maintenance work except that concerned with the safe navigation of the vessel and tow shall be performed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Engine room personnel shall not be required to do any chipping or scraping between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Deck personnel shall be paid at the rate of time and one half (1 1/2) if required to perform work in the engine room.
